What does SCC mean?

  • SCC is the name of the occupational safety management system used in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and other EU countries.
  • The SCC abbreviation means Sicherheits Certifikat Contraktoren (Safety, Health, Environment, Subontractor's Checklist).
  • The subcontractor's checklist is an extended list of questions, the main purpose of which is to ensure safety to all employees in the workplace.
  • One of the primary requirements of the SCC system is the possession by employees and subcontractors of the SCC certificate.

  • The SCC certificate is issued in the form of a digital diploma. An important element of the diploma is the logo of the SCC and of the accrediting body.
  • The SCC certificate is valid for 5 years.
  • In Germany, it is required to have the SCC certificate accredited by the German VAZ/DAkkS institute
  • Personal Safety Logbook (Veiligheidspaspoort) is an additional document in which the current trainings and permits are entered.
  • The SCC certificate allows taking up jobs in companies that execute high-risk work in the following disciplines: petrochemical, construction, heavy industry, and many other in Germany, Austria and other EU states.

The SCC certificate is valid for 5 years!

SCC 018 document

  • The SCC 018 certificate is intended for line employees
  • Two-day training (24 teaching hours) conducted by an accredited training body.
  • The SCC 018 exam is available in Polish, English, Russian, Ukrainian and German.

Duration

Two-day training (24 teaching hours), including notions concerning the safety, health and environment management system (acc. to the SCC-VAZ 2021 standard). The training is conducted in Polish (other languages available on demand: English, Russian, Ukrainian).

One-day stationary training (12 teaching hours) - in principle, each employee should take a two-day stationary training, but persons with vocational, technical or higher education and who have submitted a German employer's certificate on a minimum of 1 year employment in the position compliant with their education can take the one-day training.

Duration

  • The SCC 018 exam lasts 60 minutes and consists of 40 single-choice questions. It is necessary to provide at least 28 correct answers to pass the exam.
  • The SCC 017 exam lasts for 105 minutes and consists of 70 single-choice questions. It is necessary to provide at least 49 correct answers to pass the exam. The SCC exam is available in Polish, English, Russian, Ukrainian or German.

Form of exam

  • The SCC exams are taken in the form of a written text and are conducted by independent examiners accredited by the DAkkS/VAZ certifying body.

Conditions for taking the exam

  • Valid identification document (ID or passport)
  • Completed SCC training course (two-day or one-day training + relevant documents)
